Born and raised in Hackney, East London, I initially wanted to be a bank manager as I assumed my chief responsibility would be counting money. As I grew older and realised this wasn’t the case, I decided to be sensible and keep my options open by choosing Economics and English at A Level. For the fun of it, I chose Media Studies as my third subject and so began my slippery descent into the world of TV, video and film.
After finishing at Bournemouth University, where I studied Television Production, I served my time as a Runner in a soho post-production house. After that I was an Edit Assistant and this led to various jobs including editing for The British Council in Nigeria in 2005. From June 2006 I spent 18 months working with a cruise line, shooting, editing, and authoring DVDs onboard.
Returning to London in 2008, I’ve split my time doing a few corporate jobs using Final Cut Pro, and working at Olga TV first as an Edit Assistant and finally as a Junior Editor.
Freelancing now, I have worked on many diverse projects. So far I have edited an Algerian travel and arts documentary series, cut vts for a horse racing channel and behind-the-scenes packages for DVD extras. I hope to increase the amount of shorts I work on and also gain more broadcast ‘Editor’ credits.
